Builders can take advantage of fast, easy construction with Insulating Concrete Forms supplied by Shafer Bros. Insulating Concrete Forms (ICFs) are a stay in place form for concrete made from EPS foam panels connected with plastic webs or ties that join the panels. These webs provide embedded furring strips as well as a placeholder for rebar. The webs provide placement options for securing rebar and form insulated studs every 6″.
Once filled with concrete and left in place they provide extremely high-density insulation and air-tight sound-proof walls. Traditional finishes can be applied to interior and exterior faces making buildings look similar to typical construction, although the walls are usually thicker.
