Purpose of Position:
- Under the direction of the QC Manager, the QC Technician is responsible for performing QA/QC testing in compliance with all applicable ASTM, ACI, & Job Specific Standards and other associated tasks by direction
Key Responsibilties:
- Working in safe professional manner

- Performing proper plastic concrete testing at the plants and on jobsites in accordance with all applicable standards
- Ensure all materials meet or exceed all applicable state and job specifications
- Reporting: Ensure that all appropriate reports are properly filled out and recorded into the Command QC data base
- Monitor and test aggregate conditions for compliance with applicable standards at the plant level
- Properly logging in, breaking and recording results of concrete cylinders
- Acknowledge customer complaints/claims and take appropriate actions to resolve matter with reduction in liability whenever possible
- Attend pre-pour and other jobsite meetings as required
- Participate in Research and Development of new products
- Conduct and assist as needed with employee and customer training programs
- Participate in cross training of all departments at Shafer Redi-Mix / Shafer Bros
- Other related duties as required
Job Requirements:
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Knowledge of and dedication to quality assurance / quality control principles and standards
- Completion of MCA/ACI Field Technician Level 1 or higher
- Attention to detail and ability to follow through without direction and constant supervision
- Operational knowledge of batch plants, mixers and related processes
- Good organizational and planning skills
- Excellent Customer service ability
- Basic knowledge of computers and Microsoft office
- Must be able to perform simple mathematical calculations
- Adaptability and flexibility to be able to adjust to continuous change
- Team player
Physical Requirements:
- Work requires walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting (50 lb minimum) objects
- Must be able to start work early mornings and work long hours according to seasonal and market demands
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions

Job Summary:
Troubleshoot, repair and maintain equipment including, ready-mix plant and other miscellaneous equipment. Have experience in operating front-end loader, forklift, skid loader, man lift & other equipment used in maintenance procedures.
- Maintain a safe work environment.
- Understand and follow proper lockout/tag out procedures.
- Weld and cut on equipment when necessary.
- Perform regular preventative maintenance on ready-mix plant, conveyor, mixer, loader, etc. such as oiling, greasing, and changing filters.

- Ability to read and understand blueprints/schematics
- Perform metal fabrication for plant operations.
- Electrical and pneumatic knowledge a plus

- Perform other tasks as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Knowledge and experience in maintenance of equipment, such as air compressors, mixers, vibrators, conveyors, motors, and other miscellaneous equipment.
- Weld and cut with a torch.
- Available for weekend work
- Work well under pressure
- Driver’s license required
- CDL is a plus
Compensation:
- Hourly wage based on experience – Potential for excess of $70,000 per year

Job Purpose:
The primary responsibility of this position requires extensive knowledge of heavy equipment and small engine repair. Main focus will be on repair and maintenance of Redi-Mix Concrete trucks. Must be able to work as part of a team and responsible for general maintenance of all fleet vehicles.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performing mechanical repairs of medium and heavy-duty diesel trucks
- Perform all levels of Preventative Maintenance inspections and repairs
- Road test Vehicles when necessary to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure they are properly working
- Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment using testing equipment such as laptop computers, motor analyzers, temperature and pressure gauges
- Identify warranty repairs and document properly on the repair order
- Keep work area clean and safe
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school degree or equivalent, (preferably trade school as well)
- Valid Driver’s License with CDL preferred or the ability to obtain one
- Experience servicing and maintaining diesel engines
- Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair medium to heavy-duty vehicles
- Must have a complete set of hand tools and be proficient in all areas of truck repair
- Must be detail oriented and able to work in a team environment
- Ability to work intelligently with common sense, keep work environments clean and comply with all safety regulations
- Must be available to attend additional training when needed
