Shafer Redi-Mix Concrete is looking for a full-time hard-working, enthusiastic, and reliable Loader Operator to help maintain our plant.

Our Loader Operator keep grounds and operations of plant location in neat and orderly condition by performing the following duties:

  • -Maintains aggregate stockpile area.
  • Conducts scheduled maintenance program on plant equipment.
  • Maintains communication with Dispatch regarding needs or problems relating to plant.
  • Operates front-end loader.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs. unassisted.
  • Must be able to climb excessive heights.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Capitol Terminals is seeking qualified pneumatic dry bulker drivers for their Michigan based facilities. Capitol Terminals offers competitive pay (Up to $27.00/hr) and benefits, as listed below, and is seeking Drivers with strong customer service skills for full-time positions.

JOB PURPOSE
Primary responsibility of this position requires safely driving a tractor-trailer for the transportation of dry materials, attention to safe loading and unloading at a variety of job sites and maintaining a clean truck both inside and out.

PNEUMATIC DRY BULK DRIVER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Safely driving truck to and from destination applying knowledge of DOT driving regulations and area roads
  • Handling truck controls for safe loading and unloading of material
  • Verify directions with plant personnel before leaving the plant to ensure delivery to the correct customer and job site
  • Strive to meet customer expectations without exception
  • Keep equipment in acceptable condition of cleanliness using approved cleaning materials and supplies
  • Maintain contact with supervisor/dispatch to receive and transmit delivery instructions
  • Assist other company employees as needed
  • Must be able to take orders, instructions, and guidance from supervisors and management
  • Cooperate and promote a team concept with all other company employees, as well as customers
  • Adhere to all Company, DOT, and OSHA. rules and regulations at all times
  • Meet or exceed company safety standards
  • Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must possess a valid CDL Class A with doubles endorsement
  • 1 year of prior bulker experience
  • Must have a clean driving record in the last 5 years and maintain a clean driving record during employment
  • Ability to pass pre-employment DOT drug screen
  • High School diploma, preferred

The Dispatcher is responsible for managing the daily customer service and dispatch functions for the ready-mix plants.

The focus in this role is to exceed the customer and company requirements for Customer Service, Quality, and Efficiency.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Schedule, dispatch and monitor truck activity
  • Perform daily equipment walk around and site inspections
  • Communicate with QC personnel and make required adjustments to mixes
  • Monitor inventory levels

QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE) AND REQUIRED SKILLS

3 to 5 years prior experience in the ready mix industry. Prefer prior dispatch experience

  • Ready Mix experience preferred.
  • Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Good communication and motivational skills.
  • Must be able to work well under pressure.
  • Experience using Sysdyne software, preferred.
  • Microsoft Word and Excel applications experience and use.
